Weekly update 21

This week I've been thinking more about the design of my third chapter. It has changed a lot from my original outline, largely because the data I would like to have just dont exist. I have gotten the analysis as far as deriving some development areas/leaseholds based on existing well pad permits, and then I packed drainage units into those leaseholds in a kind of exploratory step to see how many well pads I will end up with with my current parameters. Below is the distribution of pad numbers across my development areas. What's interesting to me is that I've got more development areas with 2 well pads than 1, and I've even got one with 21 well pads. Just based on the way in which developers plan and build their infrastructure, I would have expected to have more singletons than doubletons(?) by a long shot. In fact, I've got almost as many development areas with 3 well pads as 1!
